G'Day Mate, Merryy Xmas

Hey guys,
A very merry Christmas to you all. Hope you all have some crazy days, mine has certainly been busy!!
Backtrack a bit, to the beginning of the week. There has been lots of drama at the hostel this week, AGAIN. One of the girls from work, Rene, tried to kill herself twice. I walked in on her both times, and stopped her. I read the suicide note too and it's just been pretty full on. Oh well, she's not my problem anymore as she's no longer staying here. Work has been busy, and sales have started to pick up which is encouraging.
On Thursday we had work's Christmas awards party. We drove down to Brisbane at 8am, everyone crazy tired. We arrived at the Brissy office at about 11.30. No one had eaten food so moo moo ordered 6 pizzas between 12 of us and we smashed those down for brekkie :) Yum! We then went and hit turf til 5pm. Came back to the hostel where we discovered we had one shower and one toilet to get between 8 of us. Pixie and I came up with the clever solution of showering together to reduce the time waiting and maximise our getting ready time! All glammed up, we went to the Press Club which is this very smart club in Brisbane.
There was a $6000 bar tab, and teams from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunny Coast were there. It was a really good night, and was fun to see everyone letting their hair down. I saw some of the Brissy team from Gympie there which was fun, and I even went out clubbing with them later on that night. Ended up in Down Under bar before going back to Nathan's house for another party. I ended up back at the hostel at 6am.
The stories from some of my team are hilarious and involve a boy getting beaten up by a hooker, tom being found out for being underage and various other escapades!!!
We drove back from Brissy that morning, everyone hungover as fuck and sleeping so well!!! I went straight to the cable park, and waited for Bel to finish work. We then went back to her house, or rather, cabin (it has 3 rooms and 5 people live there - it's major cramped). Ate a delicious dinner and then headed to Bel's brother's girlfriend's hosue. Me, Bel, Mayce and Ethan slept there, along with Alix's 2 overhyper dogs and various cats. It was like my idea of hell but never mind, it was aa bed! Bels dad came and picked us up at 8am, to go back to their field to have brekkie in his parents caravan's deck. It was delicious - fruit salad, macadamia nut muffins, gammon, eggs and toast. We sat on the deck in the middle of a field, with a dam with a winch right next to us. Very pretty fosho.
Next we headed to Bel's mums parent's house! They have a swimming pool so we jumped in there for a bit before having chrissy dindins. Again it was delicious and entertaining conversations involving projectile pooing and vomiting. After there we headed to the cable, where I got picked up by Tom, who drove us to Shayd's house where we were offered another barbie. I have to say, by this point I did feel like the Vicar of Dibley!!!
Anyways, we just chilled at Shayd's. She has a 5 year old daughter who was over excited as kids are about Christmas which was lovely. We played a bit of pool until tom got too frustrated at losing so we headed back.
Got back to the hostel, skyped home, and now just relaxing and writing my blog. Anyways, I'm sure no one is interested in my Christmas day ramble so I shall sign off and go to bed now - damn i'm tired!!!
Peace and love and sugar and spice

Thunder and lightening and all things frightening

Maroochydore has been under attack by thunderstorms. These aren't your average thunderstorms either. The thunder sounds like bombs are being dropped over head, the lightening lights up the whole sky and is prone to strike many things, and the combined effect leaves the rooms shaking. That's what you call a thunderstorm! I went and ate pizza on the beach in the middle of one thunderstorm, came back to the hostel and went swimming with the lads afterwards. We were in the pool with the lightening striking all round us - insanely stupid but an incredible experience.
So Saturday (11th december) was my last day in the door to door sales. This week I've spent job hunting, swimming, wakeboarding, hanging out with friends and partying. The job hunting is crazy unsuccessful so I'm returning to the sales gig on monday. I hate to have to do it, but I need money and something is better than nothing at the minute. It will be different from before tho, as a few people have quit and Josh got fired. That means new management styles and new organisation. It sounds like its working, I just hope it works for me!
We've had some cool people staying at the hostel recently. 2 brits for 2 nights called paul and alex, and a scottish couple, brendan the melbournian and brogan the kiwi. Together with me, dan and avril it makes a good little group. We went out for drinks last night to mooloolaba, sat outside in the thunderstorm chilling out. We came home and decided it would be a good idea to jump into the pool. We had diving competitions, tried to walk someone from one side of the pool to the other over people's shoulders, human pyramids, and we created an awesome game which is a cross between water polo and rugby!!! So much fun :)
Anyways the sun is shining, its 10am and I'm off to enjoy my last 2 days before work starts again!!!
Laters, Peace :) xxx

Gympie

What happens in Gympie stays in Gympie :)
Haha well most of it anyways! It started as a road trip with work. We got told Sunday night that 6 of us would be doing the hour and a half drive up to Gympie, staying up there for a week and working. 2 of us would have to go up Sunday night with another team from Brisbane as there wasn't enough space in the hire car for all of us.
Jesse and myself pulled the short straw and went up in the Brissy van. They were an alright bunch but most had no personality!! That night was pretty dull - we were anticipating the arrival of the rest of our team the next day.
On Monday morning, Pirate, BFG, Zena, and Bogie came up in a Nissan X-Trail hire car. It was so good to see them, mainly because it gave us an excuse to go food shopping!!
We worked hard all day in the pouring rain before stopping by Coles to buy dinner - here's a hint, never go shopping with boys because they tend to put 3 crates in the trolley and blow your food budget in one shop!!! We stayed in a caravan park up there in 2 cabins - Zena had one to herself because she wanted an earlier, quiter night than the rest of us. That left me with 4 boys and the choices between a double bed, a double futon, and 2 bunk beds. I have never played more musical beds in my life!!! We also had a shower bathroom and kitchenette. It was pretty cosy, but we all got along so well which was fab :)
One special thing about Gympie was the levels of nudity! I won't go into detail to spare certain people's embarrasment but needless to say I have seen more of every one of the Gympie 6 than I ever needed to see!!
Most evenings turned into beer-fuelled, card-playing, socialising nights. Pirate invented spin the bottle with questions which you had to pull out of a hat - it was enlightening to say the least!! Pictures will be arriving on facebook in the near future which will explain a lot!
There were many escapades in Gympie. These were the laundrette experience, the car crash, the sunstroke and the gympie locals. Firstly, the laundrette. Now, I can't go into too much detail because of a promise made to my friends but I'll try and tell as much as I can! Everyone had had too much to drink, but washing was an absolute necessity so I drove the car into town. Having no idea where the laundrette was, I parked in the centre and we walked about town randomly! We got accosted by 14 year olds shouting "oi, C***s, give us a f***ing cigarette" to which BFG replied "no, you're only about 12!" they were spoiling for a fight  but we wouldn't give it to them! Later found out that they stabbed someone that night - I was very pleased to have BFG there (he does like a billion martial arts). Still lost, and no idea where we were, Pirate has the bright idea of shouting at cars driving past for directions. These 2 girls in a red corsa pull over and tell us to get in and they'll drive us there. We did, and they did drive us there. We got chatting and they were pretty nice people! In the laundrette, as expected, the washing took hours so we had to do something to kill some time. What ensued was washing machine racing, can BFG fit into a tumble dryer (he's 6ft4 and the answer is yes and I do have photographic evidence) and kareoke (however you spell it!). It was an interesting night for sure!
Second escapade, and probably the most adrenaline pumping, was the car crash. BFG was driving, picking everyone up for lunch and a swim. He picks me up first as I'm closest to his turf. We come to a crossroads on a steep hill - stop, look, check, see it's clear and decide to go. At the same time, a ute/truck/big 4x4 with pullbar on front was speeding down the hill and came out of nowhere. He slammed on the brakes, BFG slammed on his brakes, and the ute smashed into the side of us. Pictues will be put up! The window broke, both passenger doors wouldn't open and the speakers were crackly as!! Thankfully, no one was hurt but the police had to come out to do an incident report. We were pretty shaken up, got driven back to caravan park to calm down and then went back to work!! Door to door sales is tough sometimes :)
A couple of days later, the sun finally came out. It was about 38 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and we were walking around for 10 hours with no shade and very little water. As I'm sure you can work out, that's a recipe for disaster! I ended up with sunstroke, threw up 13 times on Friday and 2 times Saturday. Saturday night was fine, and I'm fully back to normal now :) Just what I needed was not working for my last 2 days at work. As they say, shit happens.
We got back to Maroochy on Saturday afternoon. It was so nice to be home, even if it was raining! We had our usual Saturday night work barbie before heading out to Fridays (a club in Malooloolaba). I bumped into Mitch (the guy who comforted me when I left my phone on the side of the road) and also Daryl who I met on the Bikini Supermodel night. It was a good laugh until Josh backed the minivan into the tree and decided we didn't need our back window anymore!!! Went back to the apartment and crashed there. Again, there are some shocking photos - Facebook will be proud of me :) haha
Anyways, I'm starving and need to go be sociable for a few so thats a long enough update for now. I'm sorry it's so long! Thanks if you bothered to stick with it.
One last thought to leave you with: If you go to the Billabong, take Billy a goon sack because he lost his. (Gympie 6 you know what i'm on about!)
That is all. Peace out

Wednesday, 1 December 2010

So, what's been going on over in OZ? Quite a lot if I'm honest! I'm currently working 6 days a week with the sales team. I love the crew, we've gained bogie and pixie lil. Pixie is from brummie, which is nice to have another English girl to hang out with and chat about Primark!!! Bogie is also quite cool - he bought me a pair of shoes for work because mine were stinking out the bus...oops :) He's also got a 5 month old daughter, it's a complicated situation but she is so cute!
I've met some cool people knocking doors too. The other day I left my mobile on the minivan, so I was left in the field with no way of contacting anyone to come and drop my phone off. You also can't work without a phone so I was stuck in field for 6 hours with no phone. I sat down on the side of the road, and started to cry. All of a sudden, I hear "are you ok?" and I turn around and there's this guy standing there looking concerned. We had a chat and he's called Ethan, invites me back to his house and we sit around with his roommate and they invite some friends over and we party!!! Getting paid to party is all good.
I also met these wakeboarders, really solid guys, who've got their own boat. I spent ages having a chat with them and I'm going riding behind their boat with them on Sunday :D I'm so excited about it!!! They've also found me a job selling macadamia nuts at local markets which is better pay than what I'm getting at the minute and less hours.
Next week we're going on a road trip up to Gympie (the hillbilly area) with work for quarterly cup. Accommodation and transport is all provided which is good so it should be a fun week.
That's caught you up a bit about what's going on out here - I best go sort my stuff out because I'm going out this evening :)
Catch you guys latersss
Peace xx
